Where I Am

During the two weeks of the festival, I’m mostly out of the office and wandering into Piccolo and Spoleo performances all day and night. In between, I’m soaking in the atmosphere of the streets and the city, talking to artists, audience members, visitors and other people, taking pictures, and of course writing it all up so you can experience the festival the way I do — from the street, steeped in the rich crush of experiences that makes Spoleto the very cool city-wide cultural event that it is.

So here’s the basic working schedule I’ve established for myself during the festival. Most of the Spoleto stuff on here is certain, though I’m not necessarily seeing every minute of every performance. (A man’s gotta sleep, after all.) And I’m shoehorning in Piccolo performances, fringe events, and the occasional party wherever I’m able. I hope to see everything on the schedule below, plus a lot more besides — particularly the Piccolo stuff. We’ll see how well it goes. If you’ve seen something that you think I absolutely must see, drop me a note or post it here on the site. I’ll make every effort to catch it.

  2. Hi Patrick, nice coverage! For some reason the series I put on at the College always gets shortchanged, have not seen anything written about it. Today over 100 people showed up anyway and I think it is all word of mouth. Why don’t you come check it out, some wonderful pianists on the 31st, the2nd,6th and 10th all at noon. And by the way I play with the CSO on the 8th at 6pm. Would love to see you there.
    Happy Spoleto!
